[Updated] iOS 9.3.2 update with long-awaited Game Center fix is now available – TouchArcade

As many of you know, there has been a bug with Apple’s Game Center dating back at least as far as the iOS 9 developer beta that was released at last year’s WWDC in June. , rendering the service unusable for a ton of gamers and even making games that rely on Game Center completely unplayable. Well, as reported in the iOS 9.3.2 beta, the Game Center bug seems to be fixed, and I confirmed it myself with today’s official iOS 9.3.2 release. It’s so weird to have a working Game Center again!

It seems absolutely insane that such a critical bug could last nearly a year, and even stranger is that, unlike some of the other glitches that sometimes crop up in Apple’s software, Apple has never acknowledged a problem with Game Center and even today’s patch notes don’t mention anything about a fix for Game Center. It’s confusing, but hey, it’s Apple for you. The most important thing is that (hopefully) we can put all of this behind us and not have to worry about Game Center being a problem again.

So if you’re like many of us with a broken Game Center, head to your Settings app and tap General > Software Update to grab iOS 9.3.2, and for the first time in nearly 9 months, see you soon in the rankings!

UPDATE: Our sister site MacRumors reports that the iOS 9.3.2 update is crashing some 9.7-inch iPad Pro devices. If you have this device, it may be a good idea to hold off on updating until this issue can be resolved.
