Mohegan Sun invests $15 million in VIP lounge, suites and golf club

UNCASVILLE, CT – $15 million will be invested in various ongoing and planned projects in Mohegan Sun and Mohegan Sun Golf Club. By the end of this year, a new 6,500 square foot VIP Lounge and Bar at Casino of the Earth will open and major renovations to Mohegan Sun’s two most luxurious suites (the Royal Suites) will be completed. Over a 3 year period, significant course improvements will also take place at the award winning Mohegan Sun Golf Club. Additionally, major updates to the Sachem Lounge and outdoor summer entry patio will begin soon.

With a view to launching in late fall this year, Mohegan Sun has begun work on a new VIP Lounge & Bar which will be located at Casino of the Earth. World-class architects and long-time partners of Mohegan Sun, Rockwell Group, are contracted for this new venue which will span 6,500 square feet and feature a restaurant, full bar and an alluring fireplace in the center of the venue. Rockwell Group is also working with the Mohegan Tribal cultural department to incorporate Mohegan-influenced designs and elements into this new space, located next to the BALLO Italian Kitchen & Bar. When completed, the VIP Lounge & Bar will provide a dramatic and elegant atmosphere, setting the backdrop for a perfect evening for Mohegan Sun’s Momentum VIP members. An additional food and beverage offering in Casino of the Earth will also be developed, with more information to be announced soon.

Upon completion of this new Lounge & Bar at Casino of the Earth, Mohegan Sun’s Sachem Lounge will also begin work on a renovation that will refresh and enliven this luxury dining and beverage space inside the Casino of the Earth. Sky.

A complete overhaul is also underway inside the Royal Suites, which are the two largest and most spectacular suites located at the top of Mohegan Sun’s Sky Tower. More than $3 million will be invested in these renovations which will undergo a complete overhaul on the theme of fire and water. The two suites will be distinctly different to provide two unique luxury hotel experiences. Mohegan Sun’s Royal Suites measure 3,500 square feet and feature two master bedrooms, two Jacuzzis, butler service, a large circular living room, panoramic views of the Thames and more.

Major improvements are also coming Mohegan Sun Golf Club (MSGC), the Mohegan-owned 18-hole championship golf course located in Baltic, CT and originally designed by the famous Geoffrey Cornish. A 3-year multi-phase renovation will implement various overhauls and improvements to the course. Over $1 million is also being spent on all-new John Deere turf equipment, which along with course upgrades will improve maintenance and labor efficiency. Phase 1 is currently focused on removing some bunkers, improving dozens more, and selectively removing trees to help preserve the integrity of the cart paths and improve turf coverage and quality . Replacement trees will also be planted to create a more strategic division between holes and to maintain the natural beauty of one of the most scenic and enjoyable courses in all of New England. One of the main goals of these renovations is to improve both the pace of play and the overall golf experience for all levels of play. Mohegan Sun Golf Club opens for the season on Friday 15th April.

Additionally, the partially covered patio outside Mohegan Sun’s summer entrance, where tribute bands are booked throughout the summer as part of Hot Summer Fun, will undergo a key upgrade.are this year and until 2023. Highlights of this project include the additions of a permanent outdoor bar, terrace, music stage and a redesigned area dedicated to activities and lawn games.

Mohegan Sun will also soon be announcing exciting new additions to its range of Restaurantswhich currently has over 40 offerings, including the popular TAO Asian Bistro & Lounge which opened last year.
