Country Fest VIPs get benefits with ticket purchases

NEW SALEM, ND (KFYR) – Country Fest is in full swing at the Morton County Fairgrounds in New Salem.

It’s the third day of the country festival and the spectators are ready to let loose.

These VIP campers have taken their “Live Music” game to level 10. The VIP experience costs more, but Luke Shafer says it includes many benefits.

“The VIP experience is where the focus is really on getting close to the stage, right down to the performers, you can take all the pictures with them,” Shafer said.

There are other perks such as drinks areas specially reserved for VIP pass holders, access to VIP lounges, food and all-important additional air-conditioned bathrooms.

“I like it because you’re closer to the stage and we’ve done it every year actually, and the bathrooms are better,” Nancy Ritz of Bismarck said.

“Well, because you get so much more perks and all the people here are nice and fun,” said VIP ticket holder Brandon Lazier.

With the weekend well underway, he is looking forward to making the most of his Country Fest experience.

“Well, I figured we’d play corn hole, ladder ball, a little beer darts. I know some of the volunteers who have come, everything is so friendly here, it’s so much fun,” Lazier said.

The VIP camping area was lively, with karaoke, friends, laughter and even a bald eagle making an appearance. Tonight there will be more people in the concert hall as Jo Dee Messina, Tracy Byrd and Travis Tritt take the stage.

Shafer said VIP tickets for this year’s concerts have gone fast, if you want to look forward to next year there are VIP tickets available for Country Fest 2023. There are still general admission tickets available for concerts on Friday and Saturday.
